Chateau d'Amboise by Night!

The Royal Chateau of Amboise that sits regally above the town of its namesake undergoes a  magical transformation on two evenings per week during the busy summer months. This former palace of the great French King: Francois I (or in French, "Fruns -wah Prum-wah"!) of the 16th C has a summer spectacle named "A La Court du Roy Francois" (At the Court of King Francois")

Well over 100 performers all in period costume including riders on horseback , court jesters , a spectacular sound and light show including fireworks. The show all re-enacting the events of Francois I from his birth in the late 1400's until his death in 1547 (all in French mind you!). Of course it wouldn't be the story of Francois I without the great Renaissance Man himself - Leonardo da Vinci whose beautiful Gothic tomb resides in the grounds of the chateau.

My hero Leo and I!!He doesn't look half bad for 492 years of age!
